Department of Conservation have offices in every town and are a great source of information and guidance when it comes to playing safely in our national parks www.doc.govt.nz Exercising: Do you like to run, bike and swim? Then this is the ideal area. There are many quiet roads as well as local groups you can join. This page lists a few rides. You should bring a wet suit for swims, unless they are in our Endless pool.
If you're a leisure cyclist and want to explore Nelson city and some easy rides, The Gentle Cycling company offer just what you're looking for. For long runs consider running the Abel Tasman trail. It is a nice way to spend a day and you can adjust the length based on how far you want to go.
